Blogs, Splogs and Crogs
October 19th 2006 13:59
The blog junkies out there would be familiar with the term Splogs.. if not by definition then at least from experience.
Splogs are spam blogs, advertising dressed up as a personal blog. Sometimes they are too subtle to pick up the subliminal messages, (please go out and buy HA! Magazine) but sometimes they are obvious containing copy such as:
'I had nothing to do today so I went out and bought a copy of a wonderful publication called HA! Magazine. And I haven't stopped laughing yet. At $6.95, its the funniest read I've ever had! ... BTW It's available at all leading newsagents.'
At least you know that I would never stoop to such crass marketing techniques. (buy the damn thing!)
But why stop at splogs. Political blogs can be called 'plogs' or alternatively 'crogs' as they're likely full of crap. 'Flogs' would cover footy related blogs and 'slogs' anything containing erotic refrerences. 'What are you doing there honey?' 'Oh, nothing dear, just slogging away!'
I'm sure we will be hearing more of these as the techos flood as with their 'wlogs'.
What's a wlog? Think about it....
(Have you bought HA! yet?)
